<哈利波特与魔法石>
哈利在他的新房间里走来走去。有人知道他搬出了壁橱，他们好像知道他没收到他的第一封信。所以他们又尝试了？这次他确定他们能成功。他有了个计划。
第二天早上修好的闹钟在6点钟响了。
哈利赶紧关掉闹钟，悄悄地穿衣服，确保他没吵醒徳思礼一家。他偷偷溜到楼下，一个灯都没开。
他在女贞路一角等待着邮递员，等待着四号的第一封信。当他从黑暗的客厅到达前门时，他的心砰砰乱跳——“啊啊啊啊啊！”
他跃入空中；他踩到某个又大又扁的垫子上——一个活的东西！
楼上的灯亮了，哈利很害怕，他看到又大又扁的东西是他姨父的脸。
