The train pulled out of the station. Harry wanted to watch Hagrid until he was out of sight; he rose in his seat and pressed his nose against the window, but he blinked and Hagrid had gone.

哈利在Dursleys家的最后一个月过很无聊。诚然，Dudley现在十分害怕哈利，他基本不和哈利呆在一个屋子里。
Petunia阿姨和Vernon叔叔不再把哈利关在橱柜里，不再强迫他去做事，或者对着他大喊大叫--事实上他们根本不和哈利说话。
一半害怕，一半愤怒，表现得好像哈利的位置是空的。虽然这些事情在很多地方看起来是一种好事，但是过了一段时间之后这真的是有点压抑。

每天晚上睡觉之前，哈利都会在钉在他墙头的纸上打个记号来倒数九月一号的到来。
