Then Beckey sat down again. They were friends soon. Nobody knew it, of course. In Miss Minchin's school, the rich girls didn't make friends with the servants. It's an amazing thing to Beckey. She almost saw Sara in Sara's room everyday, even though it was only 5 to 10 minutes. Beckey always felt hungry, Sara often bought something delicious for her. They sat there and talked, Sara told stories to Beckey sometimes. Beckey liked to listen them.
"Oh, Miss," she said, "you tell these very well! To the food sometimes, I liked your stories better."
After getting out of Sara's room every time, Beckey always felt good—— she was not tired, and not hungry.

“阿门？你们在高中过得很开心？”

“不是很有意思吗，”他说，看了桌子一周围。“高中可能是我人生当中最美好的时光。”
马特、麦克说，“真的？天哪，那可真差劲！”贝克夫人瞧了他一眼，但没有让他停下来。“那个，是这样的，妈妈。这整个就是机械般的教育。”
