“Oh, well — I was at Hogwarts meself but I — er — got expelled, ter tell yeh the truth. In me third year. They snapped me wand in half an’ everything. But Dumbledore let me stay on as gamekeeper. Great man, Dumbledore.”
“Why were you expelled?”
“It’s gettin’ late and we’ve got lots ter do tomorrow,” said Hagrid loudly. “Gotta get up ter town, get all yer books an’ that.”
He took off his thick black coat and threw it to Harry.
“You can kip under that,” he said. “Don’ mind if it wriggles a bit, I think I still got a couple o’ dormice in one o’ the pockets.” Harry woke early the next morning. Although he could tell it was daylight, he kept his eyes shut tight.
“It was a dream,” he told himself firmly. “I dreamed a giant called Hagrid came to tell me I was going to a school for wizards. When I open my eyes I’ll be at home in my cupboard.” There was suddenly a loud tapping noise.
And there’s Aunt Petunia knocking on the door, Harry thought, his heart sinking.

　　“又是佩妮姨妈在捶门了。”哈利心里想，他的心一沉。

但是他依旧没有挣开眼睛。做了如此美妙的一个梦，砰砰砰。
“好了”Harry嘴里咕哝着，“我正在起床了”
他坐了起来，Hagrid那件沉重的外套从他身上掉了下来。这个小屋里面充满了阳光，风暴结束了，Hagrid自己则是睡在倒塌的沙发上，
有一只猫头鹰正敲打着窗户，嘴里叼着一份报纸。
Harry爬到了它脚边，非常开心，他感觉就好像又一个大气球在他内心膨胀开来。
他笔直走到窗边，猛地打开了。猫头鹰飞了进来，把报纸扔在Hagrid头上，他还没有醒过来。
猫头鹰然后飞到了地板上，开始攻击Hagrid的外套。
“别那样做。”
Harry尝试把猫头鹰赶走，但是它开始凶猛地攻击他，继续猛烈攻击外套。
“Hagrid！”Harry大声说。“有一个猫头鹰-”
“给他喂食”Hagrid咕哝着说着陷入了沙发。
